Rules for Faculty of Mathematics (DAMTP, DPMMS and Statslab) Computer System
When you sign up for an account on the maths computer system, you agree to these rules. If you have any queries please contact the helpdesk.
- Use of this account is subject to the University Information Services Committee (ISC) AUP which is in turn subject to the Janet AUP.
- We extend the ISC AUP to cover Maths. The ISC refers to the UIS service desk. Maths also has its own helpdesk for department run services.
- We run a shared system. Please be respectful of others' needs and do not look at information that you do not have authorisation to look at.
- Do NOT share your account login details with anyone.
- Help us keep our systems secure. Follow the University's guidance on staying safe online and read their guidance on how to recognise fake websites and emails. Scammers try to trick people into giving their Raven password and sometimes other personal details to them. It can happen to anyone. (Please watch this video)
- Data Protection Guidelines
- Please help us help all users of this system by choosing a strong password.
- Know how to report problems. In the first instance you should email help@maths.cam.ac.uk giving as much information as possible about the problem. Don't be afraid of stating the obvious. Screenshots are always appreciated. If your email is broken phone us on 66100.
