Printing From Your Laptop
Follow-Me Printing (Maths_FindMe)
Follow-Me Printing allows you to send a print job from your Microsoft laptop and release it at any Find-Me-Maths printer in the department.
1. Install the Print Deploy Client

Open Company Portal on your Microsoft laptop.

Search for Print Deploy Client.

Select it and click Install.

Wait for the installation to complete.
2. Printer Installation

Open the Print Deploy Client

Click the up arrow on the right side of the Windows taskbar.

Right click on the green printer icon and select view my printers.

Add the Printer
-
Click Add Printer.

In the search box, type maths to locate the Maths_FindMe

You should see the printer called Find-Me-Maths in your printer list and install it.
3. Printing a Document

Open the document you want to print.

Select Print.
-
Choose Maths_FindMe as the printer.

Click Print.
4. Collecting Your Print Job

Go to any Maths_FindMe printer in the Maths department.

Tap your ID card or log in at the printer.

Select your print job from the list.

Press Print/Release to print your document.
Troubleshooting

If Maths_FindMe does not appear in your printer list when trying to print, restart your laptop and check the Print Deploy Client is installed.

If you are still unable to print to Maths_FindMe, check if the printer is still installed in the Print Deploy Client (i.e. repeat step 2 above).

Ensure you are connected to the university network or VPN if off-site.

Contact IT support if the issue continues.
Printing
Printing as described here only works if you are authenticated by Eduroam. If you are not then print jobs may be silently dropped. Printing works via wired and wireless.
Printer jobs are logged - who printed what and when.
We support 3 methods of printing from laptop client machines:
- SMB printing (for Windows systems)
- IPP based printing using CUPS (for MacOS-X and Linux systems)
- LPD based printing (for traditional UNIX and some Linux systems)
Printing from iOS or Android is not currently supported.

Webprint
We have a web printing service. This should allow you to print from any device on the maths network. Note that only PDFs, Postscript documents and plain text files are currently supported as input.
When selecting a printer, the first letter represents the pavillion (for example, pavilion B, C, etc.). The number that follows indicates the floor, where 0 refers to the ground floor and 1 refers to the first floor.
