The standard IT resources that are provided
Everyone on site has access to WiFi, wired Internet access, and printing via our laptop network.
Various software is available to members of the faculty.
Hardware
For all research and teaching staff (Lecturers & Postdocs), the default provision is a Linux-based desktop PC.
For administrative and support staff, the default provision is a Windows PC.
PhD students starting in 2024/25 or beyond are expected to provide their own laptop (financial support is available for this). A monitor, keyboard and mouse are available upon request.
For anything different from the standard/default desktop computer provision, you will need funds to purchase it or to make a strong work-related case for what you need. Please contact help@maths.cam.ac.uk
