Summer Research in the Centre for Mathematical Sciences: 2024 projects
In summer 2024, a total of 68 students undertook a summer research project in the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. The majority were arranged and funded / partially-funded by the SRIM programme, with the remainder happening as part of other summer project schemes across the university, though based in the CMS.*
Below you will find a list of all the projects grouped loosely together by subject area. Where presentation slides or original project listings are available you will find links alongside the project titles.

2024 Summer Research in Maths (SRIM) project proposals
Not all summer projects in the CMS are the result of a specific project proposal advertised by a supervisor. A final project is often arrived at following discussion between the student and their supervisor. However, some specific projects and / or outlines are advertised. If you would like to browse the list of projects advertised for summer 2024, you can find them via the link below:
2024 Summer Research Festival
The Summer Research Festival takes place annually on the first Monday of Michaelmas Term. It offers summer research students the chance to deliver a talk about their project to share what they have been working on and what they have learned. All members of the Faculty are invited to attend, including students who are interested in doing a summer project in the future.
Philippa Fawcett Interns and Cambridge Mathematics Open Interns (as well as others where appropriate) are invited to present at the CMP Presentation Day, which takes place earlier in the summer. These programmes welcome participants from other universities and this presentation day happens during the timeframe of the internship.
Below you will find a link to the schedules and programmes for both presentation days:
