More information

Faculty Board

What we do

  • We represent all Maths students and present their opinions to the Faculty Board, which discusses matters and makes decisions to do with anything and everything in the Faculty.
  • We liaise with students and academic staff.
  • We represent all Maths students on CUSU Council, the main voice of the student body at a University level.
  • See also: agendas and minutes of Faculty Board meetings.

Why you might want to talk to us:

  • If you would like to share your opinions or ask any questions concerning anything regarding the Tripos or the Faculty.
  • If you want advice on how to resolve any issues you might have with, for example, lectures, supervisors, your DoS, etc.
  • If you would like to suggest anything for us to do or bring up on Faculty Board meetings.

Teaching Committee

What we do:

  • Discuss feedback about lecturers and CATAM from the feedback forms given out in lectures and the online questionnaire at the end of the year.
  • Recommend action to improve the quality of teaching.
  • Go over exam results and feedback in conjunction with the examiners reports.
  • Discuss other issues as directed by the Faculty Board (e.g. merit marks, feedback mechanisms).

Why you might want to talk to us

  • If you have any comments about your lecturers or exams.

Curriculum Committee

What we do:

  • Maintain the schedules of courses in the undergraduate Tripos.
  • Consider proposed changes to what courses are available, and at what point they are lectured, and how long the courses are.
  • Address any other curriculum-related concerns raised by the Faculty Board.

Why you might want to talk to us

  • If you have any thoughts about the relative difficulty of courses, or material that you think should be covered earlier or later in the Tripos.
  • Any other issues to do with the mathematical content of the undergraduate Tripos.
