Part III Handbook

The Part III Handbook 2024-25 provides a detailed account of the structure of the course and how it is run, including sections on lectures, examples classes, essays, exams, and academic support.

Please note that there will be some changes in 2024-25 relating to the examination credit available from lectures courses and the essay. Full details will be published in the Part III Handbook 2024-25 at the start of the academic year.

New students should also consult the 'Notes for New Part III Students'.

Guide to Courses

The Part III Guide to Courses provides information on courses offered in a given year. The guide is updated over the summer to provide information to students starting the course in October.

Lecture lists

The Faculty provides lecture lists for all courses here. The timetables for Part III, as well as other part of the Mathematical Tripos are also available via https://www.timetable.cam.ac.uk. Please send any queries to lecturelist@maths.cam.ac.uk.

Examples classes

Registration for examples classes takes place on Moodle. Details of the process will be made available to students during the first week of lectures.

You may be asked to sign an attendance sheet and/or to submit a self-assessment form at the start of each examples class.

Lecture course questionnaire

Lecture course questionnaires will be distributed by the lecturer during the final week of lectures. A pdf copy is available from the Part III Academic Support Moodle for those students who miss the paper questionnaire.
