Running CCATSL 2.3b under Vista

Q. Can I run CCATSL 2.3b under Windows Vista?

A.CCATSL 2.3b wasn't written to work under Vista but by changing the way 2.3b starts, users can run it just like under XP. Download a modified startup script from here (right click and choose 'Save Link As') and save it in the root of the CCATSL install e.g. C:\CATAM2.3\. This file replaces startup.bat. You need to of installed v2.3b first!

CCATSL 2.2a installation bug

Q. When/after installing CCATSL 2.2a I get an error message "not enough arguments for format string".

A. There is a downloadable program for those people who are having problems with CCATSL 2.2a giving ‘Not Enough Arguments for Format String’ errors. The program can be downloaded here. If CCATSL is not giving you any problems then we recommend that you ignore this update.

The problem occurs when version 2.2a of CCATSL is installed on a PC that had the earlier version (2.1) installed. Various user and system environments clash, some of which need removing. Some of the keys in the registry also need to be deleted, new ones added, and a change is required to one of the lines in the catam.el file that emacs reads when it is loaded. The program fixes all of these issues for you.

If you are experiencing problems, the small downloadable program should be saved and run after you've installed version 2.2a of CCATSL. It creates a new directory in C:\Program Files called CCATSL_2.2a_fixer, within which are two executable files. One of these files is the GUI interface, the other a DOS search and replace tool. You should run the former.

The installed program has its own uninstaller and this can be run after installing and correcting your current setup. The corrections that this makes will be incorporated into the new version of CCATSL that will be built over the summer of 2008.
