Wellbeing / Photography WalkLloyd Mann from OEAC is offering some free wellbeing photography walks for staff across the University. The sessions are designed to help you take better photographs, whilst also allowing you time to enjoy fresh air and exercise, which we know is beneficial for our mental health. The sessions aim to teach simple steps that will help you take great photographs using your own smart phone or camera, with a no-pressure, hands-on approach. We help you think about what makes good subject matter, and support you with angles and framing, allowing you to get the best shot possible. To make the session accessible, we limit it to an hour during office hours, taking place just outside of or to your own department or college in groups of 5-10. To register your interest please email Lloyd Mann - ljm67@cam.ac.uk

University linksUniversity and College staff and students resident in Cambridge are eligible to join Qwell – a new online counselling and wellbeing platform launched this month by MIND (Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire). Qwell provides confidential chat-based counselling from qualified counsellors, free of charge. While this government-funded online service is not intended to be a replacement for face to face counselling, it does provide an alternative for those unable to access face to face counselling services. How support services contribute to WellbeingThe University recognises that at times individual members of staff might experience difficulties in their personal lives or in their employment circumstances which can affect their wellbeing. If you are having difficulties, you may find it helpful to speak to your line manager or departmental administrator. However there are also several other sources of advice and support available to you within the University. Internal and external sources of support can be found here LinkedIN Learning - wellbeing pathwayUniversity of Cambridge recommendations and learning paths for your wellbeing. Resources to Support Colleagues Experiencing Loneliness We have curated a broad range of resources to support those experiencing loneliness, and to inform those wishing to understand more about loneliness and its impact on individuals. If you have not already seen it, there is a Wellbeing LinkedIn Learning Hub which has a new learning pathway on Loneliness and Compassion. This really is well worth forwarding to colleagues (as appropriate).
