Originally from

I am from the northwestern corner of Derbyshire, where it turns into Greater Manchester.

Academic background

I am continuing at Cambridge after doing the undergraduate course (2008-11) and Part III (2011-12).

Interests

I am working with Alexei Kovalev on asymptotically cylindrical Calabi-Yau manifolds and asymptotically cylindrical special Lagrangian submanifolds. Some questions that arise are: Given a matching pair of asymptotically cylindrical Calabi-Yaus, can they be glued to form a compact Calabi-Yau? If so, can matching asymptotically cylindrical special Lagrangians in them be glued similarly? What can we say about the set of Calabi-Yau structures or special Lagrangian submanifolds obtained by gluing as a subset of all such structures or submanifolds?
