Senior Research Associate

I am an evidence synthesis researcher with a strong interest in evidence-based policymaking and science communication. Currently, I contribute to an interdisciplinary project aimed at advancing the sustainability of high-performance computing (HPC), building on a prior high impact project developing AI solutions for reaching Net Zero.

I work within the research group led by Professor Sir John Aston, the Harding Professor of Statistics in Public Life. The group’s focus lies in enhancing the use of quantitative evidence in policymaking and developing innovative approaches to data use in public discourse.

My research spans knowledge mobilisation, the interface between evidence and policymaking, green energy and sustainability, human health risk analysis, and emerging environmental contaminants.

I have a strong interest on the development and refinement of methodologies for systematic reviews and meta-analyses, with the goal of strengthening the rigour and utility of evidence in complex policy and scientific contexts. To date, I have developed and published three critical appraisal tools for the quality assessment of scientific evidence and policy recommendations.

My PhD was in Medical Sciences focusing on risk assessment of human dietary exposures to microplastics. Following my PhD I worked as a Systematic Reviewer for an independent research company (KSR) that produces systematic reviews for a wide range of commissioners such as pharmaceutical companies and public bodies, as well as medical Technology Assessment Reviews for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
