Venue:

Join us for our Mathematics Discovery Day - part of the 2024 Cambridge Festival.

Cambridge mathematicians and theoretical physicists work on everything from number theory to the Big Bang, using maths to tackle problems ranging from climate change to modelling the spread of pandemics.

Join staff and students from the Faculty of Mathematics for hands-on activities, games and pop-up explorations to discover more! Discover the fluids lab hidden beneath our lawn to explore applied maths demonstrations and experiments (from human plumes to turbulence), practise your problem solving, challenge yourself to use statistics to learn Ancient Greek, and explore how maths can help us fight infectious disease with Lego epidemics.

This free family event is part of the 2024 Cambridge Festival. No booking required - drop in throughout the afternoon.

The Maths Cafe will be open throughout the event, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches.

Suitable for all ages from 8 to adult. Please note that all under-16s must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
