Himantha Cooray is working on the fluid mechanics of carbon dioxide sequestration, focusing on the effects of capillarity on the flow and trapping of fluids in porous media. His research interests are also in the interaction between solid objects at liquid interfaces, fractal nature of aggregates and capillary imbibition.
