Election as Foreign Associates of Prof. Frank Kelly and Prof. John Hinch to the US National Academy of Engineering

Prof. Frank Kelly (DPMMS) and Prof. John Hinch (DAMTP) have both been elected to the US National Academy of Engineering as Foreign Associates. Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to "engineering research, practice, or education, including,
where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature" (see http://www8.nationalacademies.org/onpinews/newsitem.aspx?RecordID=02092012).

As current members of staff of the University, they join Prof. Dame Ann Dowling of the Engineering Department. They also join Prof. Tim Pedley and Prof. John Willis, both of whom are active members DAMTP (albeit officially "retired").
